Project objectives:

Through its activities - establishment of hatcher for preservation of biodiversity of fish species and construction of educational camp on the protection of biodiversity and river species „ECO MOUNTAIN CAMP“ - this project is strongly related to the achievement of the specific objective of the program: Promoting and enhancing the utilization of common natural resources, as well as stimulating nature protection in the programme area, through joint initiatives across the border.The project results will be realised physically and it will be easy to identify the joint and concrete actions in the border region contributing to the creation of synergic effects in environmental protection and resource management.

Project activities:

1. Study on endangered fishes and biodiversity condition in Motnana region
2. Research and analysis of preserving biodiversity in Stara Planina ( Pirot`s side),rare and protected species, models and methods of local and regional biodiversity preservation.
3. Construction of educational camp on the protection of biodiversity and river species „ECO MOUNTAIN CAMP“
4. Supply of special equipment for exploring of flora and fauna on Stara Planina mountain
5. Establishment of hatchery for the recovery of populations of endemic fish species in Bulgaria, Dolno Belotintsi village, Montana Municipality
6. Research and Protection Programme rare river species:stram trout of Stara Planina.
7. Eco forum „Biodiversity of Stara planina mountain - the value of without borders"
8. Development of joint action plan for prevention of soil, air and water on Stara planina mountain in cross border region Pirot-Montana
9. Development of Promo project Documentary, Promo Catalog, closing conference and evaluation of projects results.

Project results and outputs:

The educational camp on the protection of biodiversity and river species „ECO MOUNTAIN CAMP“ will function as an open place for education. On other hand, the hatchery for the recovery of populations of endemic fish species will ensure the biodiversity of fish species and will add more protected species in its capacity, which will lead to the diversification of the project effect.

Inhabitants of Montana and Pirot, NGOs working in the area of environment from Montana and Pirot; public administration, related to the management of enviromental activities; companies working in the area of fisheries from Pirot and Montana
