The giant white sturgeon, measuring over seven feet long and likely more than 80 years old, was one of five sturgeons illegally caught in Scappoose Bay recently. A call from a member of the public alerted OSP F&W Troopers. While there was a catch-and-release season at the time, the subjects were keeping the fish instead. All five fish survived and were released back into the bay.
